I Stood Still

Wood cut/lino cut, paper dipped in red wine, stick, ca 60x100 cm, 2016
Edition: 5

A fragile artwork that is carefully balanced. You have to come close to read the text at the end of the hanging strips. If you walk past the strips flutter in the wind and get tangled, disturbing the balance.

The text is in Swedish. A translation:

A thought hit me and refused to let go, that the face was not mine but belonged to someone else. I carefully breathed in and then out.

The feeling would not let go. It ripped and tore me but I did not move. I did nothing at all.

I wrought myself inside out with my exhaustion but nothing moved.

I stood still.
