The Red Sun

Unprinted wood cuts, painted weave, and mdf boards, ca 80-200 cm wide, ca 160-200 cm high, 2018

The Red Sun consists of three works, each with a bright orange circle that functions as an exclamation mark, a focal point, floating heads, or perhaps the unknown factor. The weaves that fall down and spread across the floor originates from the art work The Gap Project, but here they form some kind of bodies that stand as solid as monoliths and seem to continue beyond the image. Two of the works also contain mdf boards with wood cuts, a figurative element that enables several ways to interpret The Red Sun.
